If humanity continues to exploit natural resources at the current rate, we will already need resources from three planet earth by 2050 to cover our consumption. These are resources that we are practically stealing from future generations. Today, the construction industry and real estate accounts for 37-39 % of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, while just a fraction (less than 5 %) of all surplus materials from construction are recycled. For us at Hummeltorp, it has long been obvious that there are major savings to be made for the economy, the environment, the climate and future generations by increasing the construction industry's recycling rate through new technology. That is why we recycle (96 % of) surplus materials into new environmentally safe quality products that can be reused in construction processes. Through recycling, we save resources while at the same time we reduce need of hazardous landfills.
